This bar combines rich dark chocolate with mango and chilli, creating an interesting contrast between the depth of the cocoa, the fruitiness of the mango and a gentle warmth from the chilli.
This was my first time trying a chocolate bar combining both mango and chilli, and I was interested to see how the two flavours would work together outside of a restaurant curry. The chilli is quite mild, providing a subtle warmth rather than a pronounced heat. There is also a little fruity sweetness from the mango, although I had expected more of its characteristic tang and found the mango flavour itself fairly restrained. I also didn’t notice any obvious pieces of mango in the bar.
Overall, it is an enjoyable combination, particularly if you prefer chilli chocolate where the heat remains in the background rather than dominating the chocolate. The mango adds a light fruity note, although I would have liked to see more of its distinctive character come through.
